Maud, Princess of Great Britain and Ireland, granddaughter of Albert and Queen Victoria and therefore also a Princess of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, was the daughter of King Edward VII of Great Britain and Ireland and Princess Alexandra of Denmark. She married Hakon VII in 1896 and was the first Queen of the independent Kingdom of Norway from 1905.

The current King of Norway, Harald V, is the grandson of Maud and therefore also a descendant from the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
