Das Barocke Universum

St. Margaret’s church

The late Baroque hall church was largely destroyed in the Second World War and then rebuilt in simple beauty. Gotha’s Protestant city church, which is also used as the burial place for Duke Ernest I of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg’s family, is perfect for concerts thanks to its outstanding acoustics.

The Turmcafé in the bell tower, which offers a breathtaking view from Inselsberg as far as the Brocken, opens for the St. Gotthard festival and on the Monuments Open Day.
