Das Barocke Universum

Friedenstein Palace - Museum of Nature

Gotha’s dukes didn’t just have a sense and taste for art objects but also fostered a keen interest in researching natural history. Parts of the large collection of stuffed animals have been admired in the first interactive permanent exhibition, “Animals in the Tower”, since the Museum of Nature opened in 2010.

Natural history researchers of all ages can go on a journey of discovery themselves here and explore the native and exotic world of animals by watching, listening and touching. The museum is constantly working on expanding the permanent exhibition
